Government funded through March
Sep 24, 2012
Congress passed a six-month funding bill to keep government running through March 2013. This extension will make 2013 transportation funding slightly lower than authorized by MAP-21 but still slightly higher than the 2012 level. At least the continuing resolution keeps federal funds flowing to state and local governments.
Hopefully, the higher funding level will be restored when Congress takes up budget issues in the November December lame duck session (if they can agree on a complete-year funding bill). That's when we'll learn if Congress will fund transportation at the slightly higher MAP-21 level or the lower 2013 level.
