Faces of Lubricants: Brittany Clark

May 30, 2019

As a business analyst for Ingevity’s Oilfield and Lubricants team, Brittany Clark is an invaluable resource who provides sales support to our global commercial teams. From coordinating product pricing and inventory, to assisting with customer-relationship management, Brittany has a very versatile role. She’s reliable and determined to provide insight that leads our team to success.

Two of Brittany’s favorite things: Milo and the beach.

Lover of the outdoors and live music, you’ll likely find Brittany planning her next trip or enjoying a local concert during her spare time. She’s also an avid tennis player and has competed in a local league for years. Her outgoing and approachable personality helps strengthen her relationships with family, friends and coworkers. Brittany currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina with her husky mix, Milo.

Tell us about the experience you bring to your role and what you do at Ingevity.

I’ve been with Ingevity for close to three years now. I began in customer service as an export representative for two years before moving into my current role as business analyst for Oilfield and Lubricants last July. Prior to Ingevity, I worked for an ocean carrier. There I gained experience in logistics, transportation and sales analysis, experience I have been able to draw on in both my past and current role at Ingevity.

Where did you go to school and what did you study?

I graduated from the College of Charleston with a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications and a minor in business administration.

What is special about the place where you grew up?

I grew up about an hour south of Charleston, in Beaufort, South Carolina. Beaufort is small coastal town, so being out on the water was a big part of growing up for me. Beaufort is also home to the Marine Corps base Parris Island, and the Marine Corps Air Station. Both of my grandfathers were marines, so the history and unique military community are special to the town of Beaufort, as well as to me. Beaufort is the second oldest city in South Carolina, behind Charleston, so there is also a lot of historical charm.

What is something you value about your family?

Brittany’s extended family

I come from a large family (my mom is one of nine), so I grew up surrounded by extended family. I’m also a proud aunt to two little girls, Livi, 4 years old and newborn Felicity, 3 months! Luckily most of my family lives close by, so we’ve been able to remain close over the years.

What’s a hobby you’d like to begin?

I just got an electric drum set, so I am planning to learn to play the drums!

Where is your favorite place to visit and why?

Austin, Texas hands down! The live music scene, diverse restaurants and various outdoor activities the city offers is incredible. There is always something to see or do.

Name one thing about your work that gets you out of bed in the morning.

The Oilfield and Lubricants group is incredibly collaborative, which makes for an open working environment. It’s great to work with a team that values the variety of individual strengths and input!
