Thanks to everyone who shared their stories of cold weather paving as the season wound down: NB West in Missouri, McAsphalt in Canada, Bigan Paving near Chicago, and NuStar. Temperatures of 19F, 23F, and 44F…brrrrrr! . Steve Jackson @ NB West appears to be the 2010 record holder: “temperature was 19F when we started paving. The air lines on our plant froze but our Evotherm didn't!” Drums were freezing, lines were freezing, and I’m guessing some toes got pretty chilly too. Watch your mailboxes for the Thermoses and thanks for reminding me why I love the South!
