The 2nd Edition of Warm-Mix Asphalt: Best Practices is here! Commercial usage and knowledge of warm-mix asphalt have grown dramatically in the three years since the first edition was published. Thirty U.S. states now have specifications for warm-mix asphalt. Available from NAPA’s web site, the expanded, 60-page second edition includes information on 22 WMA technologies/processes compared to 8 in the first edition (Evotherm was one of the original technologies). The section on best practices for production has been expanded, providing both short- and long-term recommendations to address potential production issues while maximizing fuel savings. Data is provided supporting improvements emissions and working conditions as well as performance. Summaries are provided of ongoing research. This document is designed for the user, both agency and industry personnel.
