Getting chilly out there!

Brrr… it was cold out there last week. A total of 10,000 tons of surface mixture was placed a 4 separate sites in upstate NY for the New York State DOT using Evotherm as a compaction aid. This warm mix initiative allowed for paving projects to continue past the regular hot mix seasonal deadline of October 31. The NYSDOT paid for the cost of the Evotherm, which ensured quality pavements were placed in adverse conditions. The morning temperatures dipped down to a chilly 35°F and using Evotherm expedited the placement of these pavements before year end. These projects were win-wins for both the NYSDOT and for the Contractors involved.
