High RAP Workability

Atlantic Coast Asphalt in Jacksonville, FL, utilized Evotherm to combine workability and performance with a high-RAP asphalt mix. Axeon supplied PG 58-22 asphalt terminally blended with Evotherm that was mixed with 40% RAP. Beginning at 7 AM, Atlantic Coast Asphalt loaded the first of 19 trucks. Production temperatures began at 330F and were reduced in stages down to 270F. After a 50 minute haul, temperatures behind the screed hovered around 240F. Gauge readings on site indicated high 90% density values indicating another high performance pavement. Atlantic Coast Asphalt is part of Hubbard Construction, a Eurovia company.
