Ingevity donates $11,000 to Greater Alleghany United Fund

COVINGTON, Va., Jan. 19, 2017 – Ingevity donated $11,000 on Jan. 13 to the Greater Alleghany United Fund. This funding will provide resources to those in need, ultimately strengthening the surrounding community.
“The Greater Alleghany United Fund is extremely grateful for the generosity of Ingevity and its employees,” said Karma Tucker, campaign director, Greater Alleghany United Fund. “These donations fund programs that assist thousands in our community and provide the essential basic needs for many families. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have this wonderful employer who cares deeply for and is willing to invest in the people of the greater Alleghany area. With companies such as this, we are truly able to pull together to take care of our friends and neighbors. We thank Ingevity for their example and support of our motto, ‘People helping people.’”

Funds donated by Ingevity will support multiple charities, including:
- The American Red Cross, Roanoke Valley Chapter, which provides on-site support for fires and other disasters.
- Local Office on Aging (LOA), Inc., which provides hot meals to homebound seniors through the Meals on Wheels program, transports elderly seniors to and from doctor’s appointments, and assists with basic household needs.
- Feeding America Southwest Virginia, which provides food for distribution to families in need.
- Habitat for Humanity Virginia, which builds, rehabilitates and preserves homes for qualified families to improve their shelter conditions.
