Ingevity’s DeRidder plant receives Kansas City Southern Safe Shipper Award

DERIDDER, La., June 22, 2017 – Ingevity’s DeRidder, La., plant was recently recognized by Kansas City Southern Railway with the 2016 Hazardous Material Shipper Safety Award. The facility shipped more than 500 products in 2016 without incident. Only 21 out of 500 companies received this award in 2017.

“Kansas City Southern shares a steadfast dedication to the safe movement of every shipment every day. We honor this commitment for the protection of our environment and the safety and health of our employees, customers and the citizens of every community where we live and operate,” said Kansas City Southern’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Brian Hancock. “We present the Safe Shipper Award to customers in gratitude for their business and commitment to these shared values.”

“Our shippers are diligent, and work hard to prepare each container in a way that won’t have a negative impact on the community,” said Ashley Hauser, shipping and receiving manager at Ingevity’s DeRidder plant. “We take pride in following the principles of Responsible Care®, which protects human health and the environment.”
