DERIDDER, La., June 8, 2017 – Ingevity recently sponsored the Teacher of the Year awards at the 2017 Beauregard Parish Senior Scholars’ Banquet. The Beauregard Parish Teacher of the Year awards, which is part of the Louisiana Department of Education’s statewide Teacher of the Year program, selects one outstanding local teacher at the elementary school, middle school and high school levels to receive this distinguished award. Teachers are given a plaque and monetary award.
“We’re always excited to recognize teachers who encourage and inspire students to reach beyond their own expectations,” stated Ashley Hauser, shipping and receiving manager of Ingevity’s DeRidder facility. “Presenting the award to this year’s recipients was truly an honor.”
The Senior Scholars’ Banquet, which recognizes students who have maintained a grade point average of at least 3.5 throughout their four years of high school, also honors key teachers who have contributed to their students’ success. This year’s winners include Lorri Woodard of Pinewood Elementary School, Ashley Doyle of DeRidder Junior High School, and Jan Morel of East Beauregard High School.
