Ingevity and its employees pledge over $18,000 to Greater Alleghany United Fund

COVINGTON, Va., Feb. 13, 2018 – Ingevity presented the Greater Alleghany United Fund with a check on Feb. 2, totaling $10,000. Employees at the Covington, Va., facility pledged to give an additional $8,300 during the 2018 calendar year. The donation will provide food, shelter and other resources to those in need.

“Our employees stepped up and pledged their support of our community,” said Tad Robertson, senior process engineer, Ingevity. “I’m excited that Ingevity is providing this level of support to the Greater Alleghany United Fund. The dollars we donate will go a long way in supporting those who need it most.”

We strive for a team-oriented culture that lends itself to the pride we feel at work. Helping people right here in our local community is an opportunity to really make a difference.”

The Greater Alleghany United Fund is operated by a volunteer board who ensure donations made to the 501(c)(3) organization are distributed throughout the Alleghany area. Funds donated by Ingevity and its employees are used to support the Salvation Army, which provides a food pantry, utility assistance and clothing assistance to residents in need; the American Red Cross, Roanoke Valley Chapter, which provides on-site support for fires and other disasters; Feeding America Southwest Virginia, which provides food for distribution to families in need, and Local Office on Aging (LOA), Inc., which provides hot meals to homebound seniors through the Meals on Wheels program, transports elderly seniors to and from doctors’ appointments, and assists with basic household needs.
