Ingevity Donates $8,000 to DeRidder Local Schools

Ingevity presented checks totaling $8,000 on Aug. 24 to DeRidder High School and DeRidder Junior High School. The funds were donated via the Partners in Education program which was designed as a way for businesses, like Ingevity, to make a positive impact on the education of youth in the community.
Monies donated by Ingevity support DeRidder High School and DeRidder Junior High School via:
- Field trip funding;
- Experts for special classroom lectures;
- Safety fair sponsorships; and
- Programs for overall academic success.
Funds are also used to support MathCounts, an organization that focuses on increasing the math and problem solving capabilities of middle school students.
“I would like to thank the Ingevity Corporation for their generous donation to our school,” stated Harry Hooker, principal of DeRidder High School. “These funds will be used to promote excellence and support both students and staff. We appreciate their commitment to investing in our school and student body.”
