Adsorbed natural gas technology to be featured at World Gas Conference
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., June 8, 2018 – Ingevity will participate for the first time at the World Gas Conference (WGC 2018) in Washington, D.C., from June 25–29, 2018. Ingevity is a key partner in a manufacturing coalition led by Adsorbed Natural Gas Products (ANGP) that will display its proprietary adsorbed natural gas (ANG) tank designed for bi-fuel commercial and light-duty vehicles.
Ingevity’s market-leading activated carbon technology, Nuchar® FuelSorb™ monoliths, enables the development of low-pressure natural gas fuel tanks and economical refueling options for these bi-fuel natural gas vehicles. ANG technology facilitates reliable, at-home private refueling and leverages the existing gas infrastructure already available in nearly 60 million homes and 5 million businesses throughout the United States.
“WGC 2018 is an outstanding forum for Ingevity to continue to engage and form partnerships with local gas utilities, distribution networks, vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers, which will further drive the commercialization of ANG technology,” said Ed Woodcock, executive vice president and president of Performance Materials at Ingevity. “The bi-fuel ANG technology overcomes many of the disadvantages of compressed natural gas systems, and for the first time allows the user to capture the fuel savings of natural gas and a lower total operating cost as compared to a mono-fuel gasoline engine.”
Robert Bonelli, ANGP’s president and chief executive officer, will briefly discuss ANGP’s plug-in hybrid adsorbed natural gas vehicle (PHANGV®) technology at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, during the WGC 2018 Innovation Awards Ceremony. The PHANGV was recently awarded the WGC 2018 Innovation Award for the “Transportation Driven by Gas” category.
Adsorbed Natural Gas Products, Inc. (ANGP) designs, develops and manufactures on-board low pressure adsorbed natural gas (ANG) storage technology, and related products, for all classes of motor vehicles.
