Food, Chemical and Water Purification

Overview

Our sustainable powdered activated carbons have helped purify an array of food, water and chemical products since 1913, including foods and beverages; the decolorization, deodorization and contaminant reduction of chemicals and catalysis; and municipal and point-of-use water treatment.

Nuchar® powdered activated carbon has extraordinarily large surface area and pore volume which makes it the product of choice for liquid-phase purification in batch and continuous dosage applications. Its controlled porosity and particle size distribution result in fast kinetics, high capacity, improved filtration and good settling and suspension characteristics.

Nuchar is offered in a range of particle size distributions, surface chemistries and purity levels – many meeting the standards of the Food Chemical Codex and are certified NSF/ANSI 61 and 42. Our Covington, Virginia, Wickliffe, Kentucky, and outsourced locations have Ifanca Halal Product certification and are Star-K Kosher certified.
