Faces of Evotherm: Pete Truncale

Dec 04, 2017

Pete Truncale is one of the newest members of the Evotherm® technical team. This field applications engineer is a New York native and a huge fan of baseball, his family and his new home in Charleston, South Carolina.

“This new role at Ingevity is different than what I’ve done over the past 19 years,” explains Truncale. “Learning and getting out to meet new people and customers is exciting. My job as a field applications engineer is to help customers with mix designs, laydown and plant applications; to help with the installation of pumps at customers’ plants or batch terminals; and work to exceed customers’ expectations.”

What’s your idea of happiness?

Quality time with my family, whether it’s going to the beach, a park or a baseball game.

If not yourself, who would you be?

I’m a big baseball fan, particularly a Yankees fan. So probably one of the many Yankee greats.

Where would you like to live?

I recently moved to South Carolina from New Jersey and I have to say, for the short time I’ve been here, I love it.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I love to cook. When I was younger and almost out of high school, I contemplated going to the Culinary Institute to become a chef. I like to try new recipes or come up with something on my own. Since moving to Charleston and seeing the different kinds of food at all the awesome restaurants, it’s given me new ideas for what I can cook at home.

What are you proud of?

I’m proud of the wonderful family I’ve been given. I have the most wonderful wife and two healthy children. What’s better than that?

Who are your heroes in real life?

Mom and Dad.

What’s a hobby you’d like to begin?

I would like to learn how to play golf since I’ve heard about all the great courses in the Charleston area. I also plan to fish every once in a while.

What’s your dream vacation?

Before children, my dream vacation would have been an Alaskan cruise or someplace exotic. But now that we have kids, it would be taking them to Disney World for the first time. I’d love to watch them enjoy the experience and feel like a kid again myself.

What’s your favorite movie quote?

The Ferris Bueller quote: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

When he’s not on the road meeting customers and helping at job sites, or drumming up new food creations in the kitchen, Pete can be found exploring the Charleston area with his wife of 12 years and his young son and daughter. Welcome, Pete!
