Chemical Warriors of the Dragon Boats

The MWV Chemical Warriors took to the Ashley River for the annual Dragon Boat races here in Charleston, SC. Asphalt Innovations team members from the technical center and the chemical plant combined forces with MWV’s other Charleston, SC based businesses: Carbon Technologies and Pine Chemicals. The results? One “hard-core” boat and one “party barge”. The first boat placed 6th out of 63 boats, including international and national teams, and the second boat was happily in the middle of the pack. A beautiful day and good grillin’ made for a wonderful day. Best of all, the festival raised about $72,000 for local cancer survivor programs.
