ECHA expands substance candidate list for REACH authorization
Jan 29, 2020
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) recently added four substances to its candidate list of substances of very high concern (SVHCs), raising the number of SVHCs on the list to 205. These substances are candidates for eventual EU’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation inclusion.
Three substances, diisohexyl phthalate; 2-benzyl-2-dimethylamino-4-morpholinobutyrophenone; and 2-methyl-1-(4-methylthiophenyl)-2-morpholinopropan-1-one, were added to the list due to their toxicity to reproduction.
The other substance, perfluorobutane sulfonic acid and its salts, has been added to the list due to a combination of other properties of concern.
