COVINGTON, Va., July 28, 2016 – Ingevity recently hosted a picnic for the residents of Boys Home of Virginia, marking the end of a successful school year. Ingevity employees and Boys Home staff and residents collaborated to plan an evening of fun, including basketball, football, a friendly cornhole match, music and food prepared by both groups. The picnic will be implemented as a yearly tradition for the boys.

“Community involvement is important to Ingevity,” stated Tad Robertson, senior process engineer at Ingevity. “Sharing our knowledge through encouraging words of wisdom with the youth of Boys Home is one way in which we are able to give back. We are looking forward to building a lasting relationship with the staff and residents there.”

“Boys Home was excited to welcome Ingevity to campus, and grateful for the food, entertainment and fellowship of the evening,” said Donnie Wheatley, executive director of Boys Home. “We look forward to planning events with Ingevity every few months to encourage the continuation of our partnership.”

Ingevity’s upcoming activities with Boys Home are geared towards mentoring and teambuilding, and include a talent show, farm projects and tutoring.
