Ingevity and Carolinas-Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council host supplier outreach event

PRESS RELEASE

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 8, 2017 – On Tuesday, Nov. 7, Ingevity co-hosted a supplier outreach event with the Carolinas-Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (CVMSDC). Thirty representatives from more than 20 North- and South Carolina-based suppliers were in attendance.

The event, which was open to local and regional minority-owned businesses, was held at one of Ingevity’s North Charleston locations. The event included information about the company, including what they purchase as an organization, and how to do business with them.

“We have found that many local organizations are unaware that Ingevity is a large manufacturer that’s headquartered right here in North Charleston,” said Glenn Marcus, director, global sourcing at Ingevity. “We wanted to raise awareness of Ingevity’s global business opportunities for suppliers. After becoming a member of CVMSDC earlier this year, we felt that co-hosting a supplier outreach event would help us to draw attention to these opportunities, and forge new relationships with other local companies that perhaps we didn’t know about previously.”

“CVMSDC creates opportunities to build wealth through our corporate partner relationships,” said Dominique Milton, South Carolina director of corporate services for CVMSDC. “We value the commitment from Ingevity’s leadership team to intentionally create connecting opportunities for diverse suppliers.”

Ingevity plans to make the supplier outreach event an annual occurrence.
